The Americans have developed a new augmented reality helmet for the military

The company Rockwell Collins has introduced a new system that is integrated into the helmets of soldiers and provides more detailed information about the battlefield and opponents.

The information may be the most important weapon of modern soldiers. Rockwell Collins company's engineers, knowing this, have developed a new augmented reality system, which is installed in combat helmets and transmits important information for the soldier. The new system is called IDVS (Integrated Digital Vision System) and uses a special projection displays, which passed important data from the command center, the other fighters or unmanned. In addition, IDVS uses multispectral sensors that increase the visibility of the soldiers at night or in the fog.

Displays installed in the system can be used to view interactive maps also allow tag strategically important objects on the fly, and the soldiers will be able to instantly recognize it. All information is displayed on transparent projection display with a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels directly in front of the eyes of a soldier. The displays can be folded aside when they are not needed, and their position can be adjusted in accordance with the physiological characteristics of the user.

At the same time, the device allows you to increase the visibility of the smoke, fog or any other conditions. Sensors installed in the top of the helmet will detect light in the visible and infrared ranges, which will adjust the image via the display accordingly.

Power IDVS system goes from block of four batteries, which provide up to 6 hours of battery life.
